We are now recruiting for a new Weekend Duty Manager position at our centre.

Reporting to the Assistant Managers, the Duty Manager will be responsible for the smooth operation of the centre on busy Weekends. The main responsibilities for this role are:

Open/Close the centre
Ensure the Health & Safety of customers and staff
Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable facility
Liaise with the management team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the facility.
General maintenance tasks, PPE and wall safety checks.
Instruct groups in the bouldering area, on ropes and in the cave system
Oversee administration of the on-site café
Assist in the serving of customers at main reception


The role has a reasonable shift pattern of every other weekends, working an average 38 hours a month. Additional hours are possible, and changes in shift pattern to cover holidays and emergencies as required.

The successful candidate will:
Hold a valid 1st aid certificate
Have CWA minimum
Route-Setting experience preferred
Have a flexible and accommodating approach to their working pattern
Be a problem solver
Have the ability to keep calm under pressure and think on their feet
Have excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Have the ability to motivate the staff team under them


Preferred but non-essential qualities:
CWLA or SPA Qualification
Route-Setting experience
Minimum of 2 years instruction experience

Rate of Pay: Dependant on experience and qualifications.
