the amphitheatre is now open...
It's been a long hard slog to get to this day. Nine months of modification to the exisiting structure and a massive addition of scaffolding and steelwork have resulted in the creation of the new Amphitheatre section of Creation Climbing Centre.
Sporting 16 new lines, traversing a host of new terrain, this new section of the centre is unlike anything we have ever built in the past. With a host of quickdraws and various points our routesetters can be as imaginative as they dare, setting routes around corners, through grooves, accross the archway or even a soul destroying route through the Bendcrete overhang wall.
Overhanginging some 18ft, the Bendcrete wall was originally used in the World Climbing Championships, and was then fitted in to the old Rockface Climbing Centre in Birmingham. Now, we have repaired and upgraded the wall, and changed the angle to make it even steeper than ever. Adding new hanger placements to conform with todays British Standards the wall sports 5 possible lines, but routes can now start on opposite walls if neccessary and traverse up to the overhang, making routes even more challenging.
We are incredibly proud of this new addition to the centre, making the Midlands Biggest Climbing Centre one of the best in the country.

Owners, Mike Kerby and Ian Gee proudly open the new Amphitheatre area.

The view from the bottom. 16 exciting new lines covering all new terrain.

Think you have the arms to get up this beast, come and give it a go!
